Engagement Photos

Six weeks before your wedding day Rachel will contact you to arrange your engagement shoot. This can take place either at your wedding venue, where we can look at areas for photography for bride and groom pictures and groups. Or if you prefer Rachel can go to an alternative local location of your choice or just have some photographs taken in her studio in Shrewsbury. The engagement shoot is an opportunity for Rachel to take some informal and fun photographs whilst building up a rapport and ensuring you will feel more relaxed on the big day.  It will also be a good time to discuss times for your wedding day and your formal group photograph choices.
There is an opportunity to purchase images from the engagement shoot if you wish and you could possibly look at using one of the images for your signature guest frame.

Prices start from £25.00 or will be complimentary when you book your wedding package.

Wedding Photographer

Your big day has arrived! Rachel and her assistant will arrive with you to capture the final touch ups of hair and make up (providing it is within your package) and record all the details of your dress, shoes, jewellery and the interaction and build up between you and your bridal party. This is a wonderful part of the day, so full of anticipation and emotion. We then move onto the groom and his grooms men, where we take some relaxed and informal portraits of men being men, but also informal portraits with his family.

Photography during the wedding ceremony is very dependent on the type of ceremony. It goes without saying that we are fully respectful throughout all ceremonies and photograph in an unobtrusive manner. Some churches will not allow photography at all throughout the ceremony, others will allow some, it is always worth checking with your church beforehand. If you are having a civil ceremony, most registrars are quite relaxed and allow you to photograph unobtrusively throughout the ceremony.

The rest of the wedding day and our role as wedding photographers is then very dependant on each couple. Some couples prefer to have formal groups at the church or registry office, some like the big confetti shots, others prefer all photographs to be completed at the reception venue, others prefer no formal groups at all.  Rachel will require approximately 1.5 hours for the groups, which will include taking the bride and groom off for 20-30 minutes for their personal photographs as it gives them a chance to sneak away from the bridal party.

Speeches are another exciting part of the day. The guests have been fed and suitably watered, the grooms look of pride and frequent tear or two of emotion. Watching the bride’s expressions as her father (or mother) speaks lovingly of their beautiful daughter, becoming the grown up daughter who sits before them now. These are the moments that the bride and groom don’t see their reaction, but Rachel will be there to capture it all.

Providing it is within your package Rachel will remain at the wedding capturing all the important details such as cutting the cake and the first dance - along with any candid photographs that may arise.  Rachel will leave just after the first dance or 9pm depending on which comes first.  Rachel can also bring along her portable studio equipment and set up a portrait area for any guests that would like their photographs taken in their posh frocks.

The day after your wedding Rachel will upload a “sneak peak” sample of photographs for you to view, these are usually 3-5 images and uploaded to Rachel's facebook page. Rachel endeavours to have all your images ready for you within 3 weeks, however during peak periods this may be a little longer. She can arrange a private viewing for you to see your complete set of images, which you will be able to take away with you on a low resolution CD. Once you have viewed your wedding photographs, we then upload to a secure website for you to share with your family and friends.

Rachel's wedding services include an album as standard as we believe your wedding album is not just a memory of your day, it’s a little piece of history to be enjoyed for generations to come. Rachel works closely with a high standard album company to produce stunning story book style and traditional albums.  Each album is designed by Rachel, with a copy proof sent for your approval before print. Album turnaround times vary pending your preferred type, but you should expect to have your album within 5 weeks.
